Carefully cut open the front of the sweater down the middle.
Separate the zipper and pin it to the cut edges of the sweater.
Double check that everything is lined up.
Sew the zipper into place.
Make a heart template just like you used to make in elementary school.
Use the heart template to cut hearts from your quilt.
Center the quilted hearts where your elbows will hit on the arms of the sweater and pin into place.
Cut a long length of yarn and begin to pick stitch the quilt patch onto the sweater sleeve.
Once you make your first stitch, go between the sweater and the quilt patch and knot the yarn.
Continue to pick stitch your way around the entire heart.
When you get to the end, knot your yarn the same way as you did when you started.
