Lavender Chocolate Dipped Candied Lemons Recipe

Not too long ago, I shared my experience with trying the Compartés lavender chocolate bar. I thought that it was quite delicious, but I thought that it was too intense combined with the high heat and humidity of the hot, hot summer months. Even though we’re currently experiencing record high temperatures, with no rain or relief in sight, I thought I’d try combining the lavender chocolate with the candied lemons that we made recently. Et voila, we made lavender chocolate dipped candied lemons.

I have eaten a large variety of lavender infused treats, but I had not tried lavender and lemon together. I was very impatient to try the combo of candied lemons and lavender chocolate, so I put them in the fridge to set faster. Yes, if you let the lavender dipped candied lemons set at room temperature, they will set better, but I kinda sorta planned on eating them right away, so I wasn’t worried about it. I let the lemons sit in the fridge for about 5 minutes and then I, not so delicately, bit into the chocolate dipped lemon. It was bright and it was fresh and it was unlike anything I had ever tried.

This unique combination that tastes like a sunny day on the mediterranean, is an absolute dream for a summer day. If you have warm spring days like we do, this would also be excellent in the spring too. I believe certain flavors and scents should really only be used seasonally, because they can make you feel warm or cold and it can be overwhelming if you utilize them in “off” seasons. We’ll talk more about how scents and tastes can affect you another day, but this recipe is definitely made for summer. If you already have your candied lemons prepared, then this recipe will be a snap!

Lavender Chocolate Dipped Candied Lemons Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 Compartés Lavender Chocolate Bar
  • 1 Batch Candied Lemons

Instructions

  • Break up and melt the Compartes lavender chocolate bar on 20 second intervals in the microwave. I recommend using a plastic bowl to prevent overheating the chocolate.
  • Dip candied lemons in lavender chocolate and place on a wire cooling rack to set. Put the wire rack on a cookie sheet to capture any chocolate drips.
  • Allow the chocolate dipped candied lemons to rest until set. Set time will depend on the temperature and humidity in your home.
  • Now it's time to enjoy your hard work!
